This is an early drawing of my horse, Scottie, done in graphite pencil on paper. Scottie was an english type Quarter Horse and was my muse and beloved companion for 28 years. Together we rode the hills and fields of northern Michigan with our barn friends.
Scottie was a Prince among horses: handsome, kind and talented. We used him for lessons for little children, and he always took care of them although he didn't like to be ridden by beginner riders. We tried team penning, but cows were not his thing. Dressage was more to his liking as long as he didn't have to work TOO hard. An occasional jump in the woods was okay with him, too. But, most of all he loved to go out on the trails.
